Ambulatory Clinic

Our vets are working in an area around the Faculty in Merelbeke reaching from Lovendegem to Vlekkem. Our patients mainly exist of cattle, pigs, horses, and some sheep and goats.

Herd Health

Cattle

Monthly dairy herd visits are being done with emphasis on fertility, udder health, milk production, and heifer management. On demand of veterinarians, visits can take place to farms with problems across the country.

Pigs

Herd health visits are done on a regular base to pig farms, with stress on production targets and ultrasound pregnancy diagnosis. On demand of veterinarians visits can take place to farms with problems across the country.

Clinic of Reproduction and Obstetrics

Small animals

  • Fertility problems in dogs and cats
  • Obstetrical problems in dogs and cats
  • Artificial insemination in the dog
  • Cryopreservation and shipment of dog sperm
  • Kennel problems

Large animals

The clinic for reproduction and obstetrics serves as a training hospital for undergraduate students. Each year, approximately 700 horses, 250 cows, 40 sheep, and a few goats are presented to our clinic.
